Trinidad and Tobago is a dual-island with distinctive Creole traditions and cuisines. Tobago is mostly known for its seashores and the Tobago Main Ridge Forest, which shelters hummingbirds. Geography

The twin-island republic of Trinidad and Tobago is separated by the Columbus Channel from Venezuela. Trinidad & Tobago lies in the Caribbean Sea close to the continent of South America, northeast coast of Venezuela and northwest of Guyana. These twin islands located just a few miles off the South American continent, these are hilly islands with a few mountains of note. Trinidad is cross over by mountain ranges the most dominant of these is the Northern Range. It is a rough area of hills and mountains with the highest point being El Cerro del Aripo at 940m high. Trinidad is worn out by several rivers and streams, with the Caroni and Ortoire rivers the most important. On the other hand for Tobago, there is central edge running down its spine, with some raises more than 600m. Tobago has a number of small islets running along its eastern shoreline.

Climate

The islands of Trinidad and Tobago have a tropical weather due to their position in the Caribbean close to the Equator and characterized by long periods of hot weather with heavy rainfall at certain times of the year. Tobago is slightly cooler than Trinidad as it is exposed a more constant breeze from the northeast. Tobago is warm and moist with a maximum temperature of around 30°C while the average temperature is 25°C. The best weather is between the months of January and May.

On the other hand, Trinidad also has a warm and moist weather with temperatures just a little higher than those in Tobago. It experiences the same wet and arid seasons as its neighbour, with high moisture during the rainy season but during the arid season, the focal part of the islet will suffer drought season. The most perspiring months are September and October and slightest warm months are January and February. The rainy season starts from June to December and the arid season remains from January to mid-April.
